Art Journaling
$40/per person, per class
Art journaling is expressing yourself visually with images and words using collage, paint, and color. It's not about making “pretty" or "perfect". We don't make mistakes -- we have Happy Accidents.
Art journaling is about the process, not the outcome: we're simply expressing ourselves. You won’t leave with a beautiful drawing of a bowl of the countryside or a bowl of fruit. You will, however, walk out relaxed, rejuvenated, and more closely connected to yourself and other strong, supportive women.
The community here is nonjudgemental and deeply inspiring. Classes are full of healing, feel-good-ness, and M&M's.
We meet every other Tuesday morning from 10:30-12:30 pm OR there's another session every other Thursday night 7-9:00 pm.
All art supplies and light snacks are supplied. Students are welcome to bring their photos, magazine clippings, snacks, beverages, etc.). We use 9" x 11" hard-bound journals that we also sell for $15, or you can bring your own.
Kids’ Arts & Crafts — Busy Bee Workshops
$40/per person, per class
These are process-based, exploratory arts and crafts classes for youngsters ages 6+.
Children come to The Hive for a healthy dose of hands-on, creative time for imaginative, fun, arts and crafts-making experiences. Students will blossom through the developmentally appropriate activities, techniques, and materials, all while they make friends with other creative kids.
All materials and light snacks are included.
Starting again in September, every Friday afternoon, 3:30-5:00 pm $40/pp, per class; available monthly.
Sewing Classes + Lessons —

Intro to Sewing and Alterations!
Lauren Fonville, Sew Mojo, is back every other Saturday, 10:00 -11:30 AM, teaching folks how to sew on actual sewing machines.
Second Saturdays of the month are Intro to Sewing
Fourth Saturdays are Alterations
$75/per person, per class
Lauren Fonville brings her years of expertise, experience, and easily accessible sewing machines to the Hive’s tables. She walks you through every little whipstitch on the machines while sharing tips and tricks for sewing with ease.
No experience necessary. All materials, supplies, and sewing machine use supplied.
Life Drawing
An intimate group gathers, quietly sketching live human form. Taking in the essence, working simply. No instructor, only live model and safe space.
This is available as a series of 2 classes/month; Saturday mornings, 9-11:00 AM; $60 each month or $30 session

‘Tween + Teen Art Journaling
These classes are where kids make new friends, share roses and thorns with their peers, and build a journal with their {constantly evolving} selves! These are not product based classes, but rather process: no perfection here.
One of the most valuable things about these classes is socialization. We all need to laugh, vent, and get our wiggles out. And, most importantly, it's electronic-free.
Sundays @ 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm for $30/pp, all art supplies included *except a journal. Guests are welcome to bring their own, or use a free composition notebook, or purchase one for $15 at the studio.

Vision Box
Step beyond the flatness of a vision board into a 3-D, hands-on creation: Vision Box! Guided in creative exploration and reiki energy with Amy Elise Roberts and Brigitta Dau, your Vision Box is the sacred space to hold, honor, and attract your intentions.
We’ll blend the art of mixed media, vintage images, fabric, symbolic charms, and personal photos. All skill leveles welcome! Just bring your curiosity, openness, and a willingness to play.

Candle Making Class
Pour with Purpose: A Soulful Candle-Making Workshop
with Altadena Candle Company
Join artist, yoga teacher, and founder of Altadena Candle Company, Marike, for an immersive introduction to the art of candle making. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of working with natural soy wax, fragrance blending, and proper wicking—while also exploring candle making as a form of ritual and creative expression.
Whether you’re a curious beginner or simply looking for a moment to slow down and reconnect, this class offers a chance to pour with intention, infuse your candle with personal meaning, and create something beautiful by hand.
Each participant will take home a custom-scented candle and a deeper appreciation for the power of scent, memory, and flame.
Printmaking Workshop
P R I N T I N G C L A S S
Altadena artist, Jiim McGlynn teaches how to carve a 5"x7" linocut block to create a black and white hand-pressed art print of your own design. Tracing allowed! You bring the (5 x 7") image, all other materials are provided.

Painting Faces
Breaking down the structure of a face and painting it seems incredibly daunting when you don’t know how. Local artist, Anna Berlly makes it simple and funou won’t believe your eyes!
Saturday afternoon, September 20, 1-3:00 come to the Hive for an afternoon of simple color, shapes, and face-making.

Autumn Watercolor
Join us for an all-level watercolor class where you can (re)learn basic and new techniques. Create beautiful postcards with Lindsay Kaminski.
Whether you’re new to painting or just looking to unwine, this class is designed to help you feel confident about continuing your watercolor journey at home.

An Evening with a Clairvoyant
Marilyn Matthews shares messages from Spirit Wednesday, October 8, 6:30-8:30 pm, $50/pp, RSVP required.
Marilyn is a natural, intuitive Medium and spiritual healer with 30+ years of experience, bringing messages from Spirit, offering private readings and bookings as well.
It’s a special evening!
Artist Trading Cards
Tiny Worlds — Assemblage
Explore, create, make your Tiny World, using assemblage, painting, miniatures, found and foraged items. Saida Staudenmaier leads this fun night.
$40 for this 2 hour workshop, and all materials. Whether you’r hanging with your bestie, chilling with your kids, or enjoying a night out by yourself, this is a good way to unwind and unplug.

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are making a comeback! In this popular class, these mini-masterpieces (2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches) are fun + fast to make. Led by Judi Delgado, you’ll create a bunch in class & receive a spiral-bound book to hold them. Trade with other students; take home a collection of unique artworks.
We’ll use paint, collage, gauzy overlays, and wax. Add buttons or beads. As colorful or subtle as you like. Your imagination is free to play. All materials are provided w/plenty of time to make your collect
